I’ve had many cats in my lifetime. A few animated Siamese as a child. Some lovely dear tabby cats. The beautiful Bangles who gave us a taste of the wild. Yet it has been the Siberian Forest Cats who have taken me quite by surprise. I began hearing about them over many years from family and friends who had them. Their demeanor and history intrigued me . The fun stories of daring exploites and friendship. But when I finally welcomed my very own Siberian Forest Cats into my home I was surprised by the many things I hadn’t been told about them. True they are Hypoallergenic, yes they are low shedding, and yes they are very low maintenance. All those things are true, the cat fur was far far less then any other breed I had encountered, I really enjoyed that! undefined

But, my favorite things about them that no one told me was their sweet and gentle demeanor. They entered gently but after the introduction wore off the gentleness never did. Never had I experienced cats who were so gentle, still I don’t believe any of them have scratched me even by accident. They never bite or attack me. Yes they were kittens and loved to play roughly with each other, but they seem to be so meek and wise about using their powers on me. I am still amazed by their gentleness. They love attention but aren’t very demanding about it. They seem content and peaceful, in-fact they seem the most peaceful cats I have ever had. For kittens to be so mild mannered surprised me. Of course they all have different personalities and ways they like to operate but they all still hold to this gentleness and kindness. undefined

My second most favorite thing after their first class demeanor is their gorgeous tails. When they walk around my house their tails seem as if their floating. They flitter around behind them outshining any runway show, full and fluffy their tails are just so fancy and gorgeous. I felt like I had stepped into a new level of beauty when they upgraded my house with their presence! Their full manes also add to their regal looks as if centuries of royalty flowed in their veins. I was a mama with a newborn baby and couldn’t stop talking photos of their every move. Third favorite thing that goes along with this is their silkie soft fur. They are so incredible silkie.

They won me over with their wonderful kindness and made their lasting mark with their elegance and grace. undefined

There many other fascinating characteristics only added to the magic of who they are. Being some of the only felines who lives and hunt in packs, their community and relationship oriented side also adds to their charm. Their history in the cold northern forests. They make even winter look warm.

Needless to say I my Siberian Forest Cats have surpassed my expectations.
